Last week a sign went up that the powers that be would be “upgrading” our coffee service over the weekend. Monday morning, I see this:

Kinja'd!!!

That is not an upgrade. It shows you the story of your coffee while it brews, no shit. BRING BACK FLAVIA!

Lavazza machines are the way forward

My former supervisor had a $600 Italian espresso machine in his office that we were free to use. Then he “upgraded” his job and the machine went with him.

Just for fun, pin the directions to the nearest Dunkins on it.

We have Starbucks at work too. Ugh it’s so gross. I love black coffee but starbucks tastes so burned.

I would really like to try coffee out of an Elektra machine and see what all the fuss is about. My place of work in Italy had a Lavazza espresso machine and I became slightly addicted. It was just one of those pod-type instant coffee doohickies, but my god it was good.

It’s 50 yards from the entrance to the building ... I hate to pay for coffee, but I might just start.

Don’t know, but I drink my coffee black no sugar, so I am sensitive to the actual taste.

We had a really nice one, however in a cost cutting effort, the company replaced the old coffee / water service and we now have this.

I stopped drinking caffeine about 4 years ago. That said, I do miss myself some Dunkin Donuts.

We’ve got one of those at work - we call it our Robot Barista. (It actually works pretty good.)

Around 2009, our standard of living started to go down at work - shittier plastic utensils in the cafeteria, and they were removed altogether from the downstairs kitchen. But Flavia stayed. The French Roast was good. The Breakfast Blend was acceptable. Starbucks must have made the firm a helluva deal.

We’ve got a good old ‘Murican Bunn-o-matic that pumps out gallons of Folgers. I secretly love shitty office coffee. It has to be black, though.

I feel the pain. I really don’t understand how people see Starbucks as an upgrade. I was there twice, and I find their coffee sub standard.
I think its not really meant for people who enjoy coffee, but more for teenagers that follow the hype and drink their coffee* there.
*adding cream, syrup and chocolate powder makes your coffee a dessert, not a coffee. And I hate you for that.
Starbucks is the McDonalds of Coffee.
Nothing makes coffee better than this little fellow:

We have 3 French presses, and they do a great job.

We have both a Dunkin and a Starbucks at my work (actual shops), guess which one is always packed every time of that day. Hint: it doesn’t start with an S.

That’s a moka pot, not a french press. You put water in the bottom, then coffee on top and heat the water. The steam rises through the grounds and then condenses as coffee in the pot on top.
